Do IoT Fieldlab is not a company or research project, but a fieldlab at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). Here, companies, researchers, students and organisations work together to test and improve new wireless and digital technologies in real-world environments. In this way, we help accelerate innovations and bring new solutions to the market faster. Read more about us here.
Do IoT Fieldlab offers a range of realistic test facilities where you can develop, test and validate wireless and digital innovations. Depending on your application, you can experiment in environments such as the greenhouse at Tomatoworld, the TU Delft Campus and Unmanned Valley. We are also part of the National 6G Testbed, where organisations can experiment with the next generation of wireless networks. View the test locations here.
Public 5G networks are not suitable for every application. Innovations such as autonomous robots, drones and smart sensor networks require reliable connectivity, low latency and greater control over network resources. At Do IoT Fieldlab, you can experiment with private 5G and other wireless technologies in a realistic test environment. This enables you to safely test, validate and prepare your solution for real-world applications.
Absolutely! We welcome ideas at every stage of development, including concepts that are still in the early exploratory phase. Are you unsure whether your concept or idea aligns with our activities? Feel free to get in touch with us via this link here. We are happy to discuss your idea, think along with you and explore potential opportunities for collaboration.
Absolutely. We collaborate closely with researchers, PhD candidates, and students from TU Delft and other knowledge institutions. On the TU Delft Campus, we offer space to develop, experiment with, and validate new technologies in a realistic research environment. By combining research with practice-oriented applications and collaboration with companies, we help convert scientific knowledge into societal and economic impact more quickly.
Although we do not develop sensors ourselves, sensor technology often plays an important role in the projects we support. Together with researchers, students and technology partners, we help develop, validate and apply new sensor solutions. By combining expertise and testing in real-world environments, we help accelerate innovations and bring them closer to practical applications.
Yes. Our team supports you before, during and after your experiment. We help shape the setup, provide support with network configuration and offer advice on wireless technologies, experimentation methods and system integration. This helps ensure your experiment can be carried out as effectively as possible.
It is important to note that Do IoT Fieldlab is not an engineering or product development agency. We do not build or develop products, prototypes or test setups ourselves. Our strength lies in providing the right test environment, technical expertise and guidance, enabling you to test, validate and further develop your innovation.

This depends on the type of project and the agreements made between the parties involved. In most cases, organisations remain the owners of their own technologies, data and existing intellectual property rights.
When multiple parties collaborate on a research or innovation project, we make clear agreements in advance about ownership, data use, results and potential publications. This creates a transparent foundation for successful innovation and ensures that every partner knows exactly where they stand.
Absolutely. We are happy to think along with you about opportunities to further develop innovative projects. Thanks to our experience with research and innovation projects and our extensive network, we can help explore relevant funding opportunities, from regional programmes to national and European grants.
Where relevant, we can also connect organisations with potential partners, consortia and experts. In this way, we help create the right collaborations and opportunities to take the next step in innovation.
We do not always have specific vacancies or research positions available. However, you are always welcome to submit an
open application and tell us about your interests, expertise and ambitions. We regularly work with students and researchers on innovative projects in collaboration with companies. This means new opportunities can arise throughout the year.
Let's innovate together!
Ask your question. You provide the ideas, we provide the connection – both human and wireless.
