InnovationQuarter is the regional economic development agency for the Greater Rotterdam-The Hague Area. InnovationQuarter finances innovative and fast-growing companies, assists international companies in establishing their businesses in the Greater Rotterdam-The Hague Area, and facilitates (international) collaboration between innovative entrepreneurs, knowledge institutes and government. This way, and in cooperation with the business community, InnovationQuarter supports the development of the Greater Rotterdam-The Hague Area in becoming one of the most innovative regions in Europe.
To achieve our mission, our teams are organised around three key activities: Internationalisation, Investing and Innovation. Our partnership with Do IoT is mainly concerned with our Innovation activities, in which InnovationQuarter facilitates (international) collaboration between innovative entrepreneurs, knowledge institutes and government. Our Business Development team members act as independent process directors which provide knowledge and expertise and facilitate network opportunities. In fulfilling this role, we are constantly in touch with major corporates, young technology companies and knowledge institutes. We remain informed of the latest technological developments and translate them into ideas for innovations. An important added value of Business Development lies in the realisation of cross-sectoral innovations: connecting innovative solutions with social impact from different sectors.
We can connect other Do IoT partner companies to our Investing team. As a lifecycle financier, InnovationQuarter finances companies in different cycles of their business growth and draws its investments from three funds: IQCapital, UNIIQ and ENERGIIQ:
- IQCapital is an €80 million fund that invests in innovative businesses in West Holland, from startups and scale-ups to mature SMEs.
- UNIIQ is a €22 million proof-of-concept fund created by Erasmus MC, Delft University of Technology, Leiden University and InnovationQuarter. It helps entrepreneurs bridge the riskiest phase, from concept to promising business.
- ENERGIIQ is a €35 million Province of South Holland fund that finances the commercialisation of proven energy innovations which lead to CO2 reduction.
