New milestone: feeling what a robot senses, from miles away!

Event recap: 6G during the Dutch Week of Digitalisation

During his teleoperation demo, our technical expert Kees Kroep showcased how a robotic arm in Delft mirrors every movement in Amersfoort… and pushes back. As an operator, he feels the resistance instantly. This step marks a new era: not just watching what a robot does, but experiencing what it senses in real time. This is exactly where 6G makes the difference: ultra-low latency and high reliability.

Resulting in a remote operation that feels natural and responsive, even across long distances. Opening up new possibilities for remote, complex or dangerous operations, e.g. in offshore wind farms, chemical plants or confined spaces. Instead of being on-site, an operator remotely executes an activity, maintaining full control of the precision and awareness needed for critical tasks.

The demonstration was part of the hybrid event “Accelerating Innovation with 6G: from Testbed to Application”, during the Dutch Week of Digitalisation.

The on site and online participants learned:

  • from TNO, how to access 6G test facilities;
  • from Oost NL, how to build business models, secure funding, and scale innovative solutions;
  • from Do IoT Fieldlab and the Rijksinspectie Digitale Infrastructuur (RDI), how to conduct experiments within existing regulatory frameworks.

6G innovation goes beyond developing new technology. It thrives on connecting the right partners to transform innovations from the lab into everyday practice. Are you ready to be part of that journey?
