In the video, our colleague Kees Kroep, technical expert at Do IoT Fieldlab, explains why our new Beyond 5G installation SAM XL, part of the Future Network Services National 6G Testbed, is special and what the eventual goal is.
He also operates a robot arm remotely while receiving tactile feedback, eventually making it possible to carry out tasks such as welding with greater accuracy from a distance. This could open up new possibilities for working in environments that are difficult, unsafe or impractical to access.
And we’re taking it a step further. An evolved version of this demo will be showcased on 23 September (15.00-17.00 h.) at our free event “Accelerating Innovation with 6G: from Testbed to Application” in collaboration with Rijksinspectie Digitale Infrastructuur (RDI) and Future Network Services. At this hybrid event, you won’t just see the remote technology in action. You’ll get the chance to see and experience it yourself.
Location: RDI, Piet Mondriaanplein 55, Amersfoort or online After the event: Networking reception for in-person attendees until 18.00 h.
Make sure to register your online or on-site presence!
The event is part of the National Digitalization Week.
Let's innovate together!
Ask your question. You provide the ideas, we provide the connection – both human and wireless.
If you, as an organisation, want to bring a 6G application to market, a successful technical test is valuable. But as a startup or SME, you ultimately want to know how this moves your business forward.
Experience 6G and teleoperation during the Digitalization Week
How can you start innovating today with the wireless technology of tomorrow? Find out during the Accelerating Innovation with 6G: from Testbed to Application event on 23 September from 15:00 to 17:00. Do IoT Fieldlab is organising this free, hybrid knowledge and networking event together with Future Network Services (FNS) and the Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure (RDI), as part of Digitalization Week.
This week, Do IoT Fieldlab, Future Network Services (FNS) and ICCS are in Barcelona to attend the Mobile World Congress: the world’s largest event for the connectivity industry! The theme for 2026: The IQ Era.
Remote maintenance inspections cannot always be carried out yet. However, the technologies to make it possible are already available. Combined, robotics, teleoperation, AI, and 5G promise greater productivity, and cost efficiency. But what is realistically achievable for your business today?
Join us on 12 March as we open the doors to our brand-new Beyond 5G test facility at SAM XL! During the event, you’ll explore how combining 5G and mobile robots can transform your organisation. Think seamless collaboration between mobile robots, stationary robots, and people. In just a few hours, you will see how 5G and Beyond 5G can strengthen factory and logistics operations.
