A delegation of the Dutch National Growth Fund and Ministry of Economic Affairs was recently updated on the development of 6G within the Future Network Services program. At Brainport Eindhoven, the visit focused on the tangible progress of the 6G Wireless Factory.
FNS presented the program’s progress after 500 days, with a special focus on the tangible results of the Wireless Factory, one of the many concrete initiatives emerging from the Growth Fund program. This showcased how unique Dutch expertise, particularly in radio technology, is driving innovation and strengthening our industrial ecosystem.
Imagine walking through a factory in the future, where all communication takes place via ultra-fast, reliable wireless connections with high bandwidth. And where all intelligent software is centralized in one central system. Super fast. No cables in sight. This would open up a world of opportunities.

Today, the National 6G Testbed officially goes live. This initiative offers Dutch SMEs and startups the chance to develop, test and validate 6G applications under realistic conditions – well before the future rollout of 6G. The testbed includes the latest mobile communication infrastructure and is embedded in a network of five regional 6G Field Labs. These technologies go beyond 5G and form the foundation for the development of 6G. The programme is part of Future Network Services (FNS), for which TNO acts as lead partner.
